About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Ready for a night of laughs with a European twist? Join us in the heart of Brussels, right in the Schuman district, where the future of Europe is often decided—sometimes not in our favor!

Europe is a complex mix of cultures, languages, and... let's face it, confusion. But that’s what makes it hilarious! From the quirks of German efficiency to the "flexibility" of Italian time, our all-female lineup of comedians will highlight the highs and lows of life in the EU.

Get ready for jokes on everything from the never-ending line at passport control in Brussels to the never-agreeing-on-anything EU summit meetings, we’ll take you on a hilarious journey through the quirks of European life. And don’t even get us started on the endless paperwork when you try to do anything related to administration in Belgium, or the “minimalist” Swedish furniture that we all pretend to understand.

Whether you're European through and through, an expat, or just love a good laugh about Europe, this night is made for you.

Come for the jokes, stay for the cultural chaos—straight from the heart of Europe!

This month’s line-up at The Nine brings a vibrant blend of comedy styles—from sharp observational humour and quirky personal anecdotes to storytelling with a twist. Each comedienne draws from a rich tapestry of life experiences, including backgrounds in psychology, politics, religion, and international living. The result? A night of smart, diverse, and globally flavoured comedy that’s as heartfelt as it is hilarious.

Kym Nelson (British)
Kym is a regular character performer in the stand-up comedy scene in Belgium and the UK and has been hosting The Nine’s all-female comedy night for the past year – the first one sold out in 24 hours and even became news in the Brussels Times! Always looking for new ways to elevate her comedy, she has trained with some of the U.K.’s leading comedy teachers as well as French master clown Philippe Gaulier. She’s written and performed comedy plays as well as her one-woman show about her former life as a yoga teacher, which was staged at the iconic London Museum of Comedy, Camden Fringe and the Edinburgh Festival. As well as performing, she also teaches stand-up comedy and character-based performances at the Brussels Bridge Theatre and for international festivals.

Erin Crouch (American)
Erin lives in Germany, where she produces monthly shows on two US military bases. She recently opened for Netflix comedians April Macie (USA), Dwayne Perkins (USA) and Enissa Amani (Germany). She also co-produces Festrogen, the annual women's comedy festival in Luxembourg.

Mohna Joshi (Indian)
Mohna is a storyteller with an original twist on anecdotal comedy. She has been prolific, playing every stage going in the Netherlands and major European cities. She has also performed in Bangkok, Mumbai, London, New York, and at the Tallinn Fringe Festival 2023.

Jenni Gee (American)
Jenny is a comedy queen from Los Angeles, CA. She has performed across the world in musical comedies and improv. Her unique stand-up style has won hearts across Europe and is a love letter to all who are quirky.

Katrien Vandepitte (Belgian)

Katrien grew up on a farm where she mastered practical skills like herding sheep and fixing fences — before switching gears to study psychology and dive into the human mind. Now, she combines hard skills with soft insights to bring smart, grounded comedy to the stage. Katrien’s material blends down-to-earth farm life with today’s everyday chaos, proving you can take the girl off the farm… but never the farm out of the girl.

Elisabeth ‘t Hart (Netherlands)
Elisabeth often jokes about her unusual family, particularly her mother, who is a priest. With a deep respect for her mum’s profession, Elisabeth has one daily prayer: that her mother never hears any of her jokes.

Anja Sliva (American)
Writer and comedienne Anja, is a walking paradox: rational meets intuitive, extravert and introvert, and artist. Oh, and her day job is in politics. So, there’s a lot to unpack on stage.
