Breakfast demo: Unified Commerce in practice
Unified Commerce is a hot topic, but what does it look like? In this breakfast demo, we'll go beyond the buzz and demonstrate why Unified Commerce will soon be the norm.
Today, the tech stacks of commerce brands are often too scattered to create coherent user experiences, but Shopify is uniting so much under one roof that we want to demonstrate what is possible. We've set up our very own dear digital merch shop, complete with a Shopify webshop and a physical store, equipped with Shopify POS. We'll walk you through typical customer scenarios to demonstrate firsthand how both customers and brands reap the benefits of Unified Commerce.
What is Unified Commerce?
In Unified Commerce, the customer is at the heart of every interaction, regardless of the touchpoint. Brands can build lasting relationships and centrally manage interactions that are personal, connected, and intentional.
Today's typical customer journey starts in one place and ends in another. And in most cases there are a lot of steps in between. The challenge lies in creating a seamless experience across these touchpoints, making the process intuitive and unified for the customer. Shopify is focusing on Unified Commerce by consolidating all sales channels and business operations into a single platform natively.
This allows businesses to harness data effectively, manage orders efficiently, and personalise the customer journey. A classic example is that customers can buy online and pick up in-store, or try a product in person before purchasing it from the comfort of their home. Implementing this requires mastering different sales channels and integrating them into a cohesive system.
What can you expect?
Over a delicious breakfast, we'll simulate several shopping interactions in our unified dear digital shop. During the demo, we'll tackle the following questions:
- What does the customer experience?
- What does it entail for store staff?
- How can you easily create personalised user experiences?
- How does it benefit loyalty?
- How does the life of the customer get simplified?
- How does this all work in the Shopify backend?
And you'll also get time to ask your specific questions.
See you there!
