How can art positively change society? How can it change our view on the present-day world and help us build a better future?
The exhibition Changemakers addresses this fascinating confluence of art and politics and presents the work of young artists and activists engaged in the defence of democracy through artivism and social networks.
Discover a selection of works by important visual artists from the European Parliament’s Contemporary Art Collection, together with several proposals by young artivists who participated in Pop the vote! Culture on the Ballot, a project launched by Culture Action Europe and co-financed by the European Parliament in 2024 to promote participation in the European elections.
You have an appointment in Brussels with Changemakers: first, at Parlamentarium (14th November 2024 -Feb 2025), and then, at KULT XL Ateliers - Commune d’Ixelles - (Jan 2025). The exhibition is also fully viewable online, with its accompanying brochure and pedagogical tools, at https://art-collection.europarl.europa.eu/en/. Guided tours and workshops can also be booked for groups through the website. Exhibition curated and organised by the Cultural Outreach Unit, DG COMM, European Parliament.
