The European Commission (EC) begins its 2024–2029 term with an ambitious agenda under President Ursula von der Leyen, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and economic resilience. The new industrial strategy emphasizes prosperity, fair transitions, investment unions, and global partnerships, aligning with CSR Europe’s Manifesto for a Just Industrial Transition.
Anchored by the European Green Deal, 2030 Climate Targets, and the SDGs, the EC is set to foster green innovation and business competitiveness, led by key commissioners Stéphane Séjourné, Teresa Ribera, Wopke Hoekstra, and Maria Luis Albuquerque. The EC’s agenda strengthens climate neutrality and resilience through digital transformation and sustainable growth. The Polish, Danish, and Cypriot Presidencies will bring diverse approaches to the EU’s sustainability goals, focusing on balancing economic and environmental priorities within Europe’s complex landscape.
This event will unite European leaders, civil society, and businesses to discuss the EC’s strategic priorities, aiming to harmonize sustainability with competitiveness and spotlight Europe’s climate neutrality goal by 2030.
