Come meet the world in Leuven!
Join us on May 17 to learn about Belgian culture, participate in workshops about living in Leuven and activities to help you create your home away from home.
Whether you have been in Leuven for 15 minutes or 15 years, there is something for you at Expatival 2025.
What can you expect?
Workshops hosted by some incredible speakers. Looking for advice from experts about finding a job in Leuven? Or perhaps you'd like to learn some Flemish phrases? Wondering about culture shock in Belgium? We've got answers on all this and more!
What is extra special about this year is that we will have some workshops where local Belgians can get a taste of our international community. Not only will we have workshops specifically for locals, we will have multiple moments for locals and internationals to connect and share their experiences!
No need to leave your kids at home or find a sitter, kids are very welcome at Expatival! There will be child care available (limited to 15 children at a time), face painting, and workshops for parents. (If you need help to come up the steps, a volunteer will be happy to help you!)
In the Info Hall we will have lots of knowledgeable expats and savvy locals who can help you with all kinds of questions! We have multiple themes in the info hall covering a variety of information to help you feel settled and better connected in Leuven.
And of course, we will feature food from around the world from delicious food vendors!

Kom de wereld ontmoeten in Leuven!
Kom naar Expatival op 17 mei om internationals in Leuven te ontmoeten en een voorsmaakje te krijgen van de wereld in eigen stad. Je kan deelnemen aan workshops die je een kijkje geven in het leven van een international in Leuven, maar ook bvb hoe niet-moedertaalsprekers kan helpen met Nederlands oefenen.
Of je nu 15 minuten of je hele leven in Leuven bent, er zal iets voor jou bij zijn op Expatival 2025.
Wat kun je verwachten?
Workshops gegeven door enkele fantastische sprekers. Dit jaar hebben we ook een hele zaal met workshops voor locals. Vraag je je af wat een cultuurshock is? Wil je tips om beter te communiceren met anderstaligen? Overweeg je zelf een internationale carrière maar weet je niet goed waar beginnen? We hebben antwoorden op al deze vragen en nog veel meer!
Naast workshops kan je ook kennismaken met oa Chinese kaligrafie, Poolse papiersnijkunst of Indische dans.
Je hoeft je kinderen niet thuis te laten of een oppas te zoeken, kinderen zijn van harte welkom op Expatival! Er zal kinderopvang zijn (beperkt tot 15 kinderen per keer), kindergrime en workshops voor ouders. (Als je hulp nodig hebt om de trap op te komen, zal een vrijwilliger je graag helpen)!
In de infohal zullen we veel deskundige expats en slimme locals paraat staan om antwoorden te geven op allerlei vragen!
En natuurlijk zullen we hajes uit de hele wereld aanbieden van lokale cateraars!
