Welcome to the World Corrosion Day – AMPP Benelux MIC Event! Join us for a day filled with informative sessions and networking opportunities. This in-person event will take place at Antwerp Maritime Academy (HZS) (Noordkasteel-Oost 6). Learn from industry experts, connect with peers, and discover the latest trends in corrosion prevention. Don't miss out on this exciting event!

The event will feature five speakers discussing Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC), offering both industrial and academic perspectives.

The keynote will be delivered by Matthew Snape, Senior Technical Commercial Manager (Global), Oil & Gas at Vink Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG, Kakenstorf, Germany.

With nearly 25 years of experience, Matt is highly regarded for his expertise in MIC, reservoir souring, and microbial contamination—critical challenges that threaten oilfield facilities and production systems. His work highlights the importance of early detection and comprehensive microbial management to safeguard asset integrity, reduce operational costs, and maintain hydrocarbon production efficiency.

By car – Beware of the LEZ (Low Emission Zone)!

Antwerp has a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in effect. This means that, in some cases, you may not be allowed to drive into the city with your car. This is especially an issue for older (diesel) vehicles. Always check whether your vehicle is permitted to enter Antwerp to avoid fines.

By public transport to Campus Noordkasteel

Tram 24 takes you from the city center to the Havenhuis stop. From there, it's just a few minutes' walk to our Campus Noordkasteel. For tram and bus schedules, check the route planner at www.delijn.be.

Parking?

Parking next to the venue will be limited, but a shuttle service will be available from a nearby parking area. Information about this service will be shared with you via email.
